SKULLSHIT presents SKULLMANIA face towel [2010]
Pretty sure this is from 2010, which is the first year that they did a whole tour instead of just one big show at Studio Coast. I went to the shows in Kobe and Osaka b/c Knotlamp played… good times.

Rock In Japan Fes. 2011 green/black muffler towel [2011]
Pretty simple colorway but a bit of a change of pace from the other stuff they put out.
Hitachinaka Matsuri 2011 muffler towel [2011]
The Hitachinaka Youth Council or whatever it’s called sets up the yearly Camp Village at Rock In Japan. They also hold this matsuri/music festival/etc featuring local artists, and I always buy a towel to support their efforts.
Tsushimamire ‘skull’ muffler towel [2009]
Pretty sure I picked this up when I saw the band on tour in Saitama Shintoshin… I think I went because Scars Borough was playing? In any case, they put on a great live show.
‘Dengeki VAP’ muffler towel [2011]
Event towel from the ‘Dengeki VAP’ free concert held in 2011 that featured many artists on and associated with the label. I was there to shoot Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, but of course I couldn’t resist getting one of these.
Both the event towels and shirts riffed on the classic Ramones design, of course. But I love the concentric circles!
10-FEET ‘military’ face towel [2011]
Same as most other 10-FEET towels; background + the band name. This one sports a definitive military theme, with a camouflage background and stencil-style text for the band logo.
Rock In Japan Fes 2011 ‘ROCK’ muffler towel [2011]
Great light pink/blue colorway with the ‘dove’ logo featuring prominently. rockin’ on usually does a simple ‘ROCK’ themed towel at least once an event, and I’ve generally avoided them until this year.
SECRET 7 LINE “How many lines does she hide?” face towel [2008?]
Most S7L towels have kept to this relatively simple aesthetic (logo and album title or other design image) since this, which I believe was their first. The album was a classic, and they’ve gone on to make much more great music. And towels, of course.
THE BAWDIES ‘Summer Festival 2011’ face towel [2011]
Weird colorways! Animals playing a variety of instruments! Giraffes! Can’t go wrong with this one.
To think that in 2007 I saw The Bawdies playing at a shitty club in Shimokitazawa, and now they’re selling out Budokan. How time flies.
It’s always nice when bands do special festival merch (instead of just rolling out a new design in the summer), because then I can remember when I bought the damned thing.
Perfume ‘1234567891011’ face towel [2010]
Okay, so I admit I have a Perfume problem. But in my defense they’re all cute (at minimum), and the music is catchy and well-produced (even if they don’t sing at all at live shows, which is my biggest beef with them as an act). They’ve also really been stuck in that BPM range that’s just enough to dance to but not enough to really get sucked into… I would prefer less Laser Beam and more Electro World. But I digress.
This towel is from their Tokyo Dome shows, which I didn’t attend… I probably bought it at CDJ1011.
